Madang? More like GAWD DAMN

As a foodie, there is nothing better than being recommended a place. Extra points are given, if you can trust the person sending you that recommendation. Welcome to one hell of an amazing night! This. Is. Madang!

Location

Located in Mitcham, this place is actually a chain (which came as a surprise to me, but then over the course of the night… not so much). The interior was nice and well lit. Although getting parking here is a nightmare. I highly recommend you carpool or have your dinner suffer.

Food

Alrighty, strap yourself in for this gastronomical delight cause we are leaving and you better get yourself ready!

We chose the fusion set for 2 people, but as there were 4 of us and we all chose to do the fusion set – we got all the meat. ALL THE MEAT!

Black Angus Beef Scotch Fillet 180gm
Marinated Beef Ribs 200gm
Black Angus Beef Rib 180gm
Fresh Pork Belly 200g

For the table:
Garden Salad consisting of: baby leaves, tomato, red radish, red onion and avocado with Madang salad sauce.

Crispy Tempura Platter which had a variety of deep fried entrees of sweet potato, praw, crab claw and chicken pop.

Corn Cheese – an understated dish which states that it’s corn served on a sizzling plate with a layer of cheese. People – here is the call out. If you can make this dish for me, I will be yours forever. Or maybe I should make it myself and be my own hero…..

3 Types of Korean Dishes: We had Pickled Vegetables, Mashed Potato, Spinach, Bean Sprout

Needless to say – I was looking forward to this awesome set!

So the first thing I chose to crack open was the soju. Definitely delicious.

Cost

We had the buffet menu at $75 for two people. You might think this is extravagant but when the meal comes out, you are well and truly satisfied. If I were you though, I would recommend bringing another set of friends who are willing to be a part of your group and join in the same banquet menu as you would.

When you add in the price of a bottle of soju – you can expect to pay a total of $50. Being rolled out of the restaurant? Well, that’s extra…

Ambiance

I liked it on the inside. Even filled with people, you never felt like you had to yell to be heard on the table and you can even have a quiet chat with your seated partner if you wanted to.

Service

I loved the fact that one of the waiters knew I was Instagramming… and would hold the smoke suction machine for me. That was pretty epic. Or the other one, that would slowly flip the meat so I could get it on video.

The water was filled on the regular and they were quite often checking in on our food and how well it was cooking. So kudos to you guys!
