With some big name actors, like Aaron Eckheart, Abigail Breslin and Tim Roth, I thought I was in for a wonderfully good time. However, this was not to be the case. It was so close to being wonderful! How wonderful? Read on.
Plot
An off-the-books assassin has been using the classifieds to get jobs. He leaves behind his personal life after his wife’s death to focus on his career. 20 years later, things aren’t the same and his suspicions are raised after the rogue MI6 agent starts opening his eyes to some uncomfortable truths.
Look, I’m not going to lie – it’s very refreshing to have an original plotline. And maybe I’m not a movie buff yet, but I didn’t see the twists coming and was genuinely having a good time. But the execution, oh good heavens – some of the acting was literally cardboard in certain places. And asking aging actors to pull off random stunts just doesn’t cut it. Plus their de-ageing technique was dying Aaron’s hair black. Just no. And what the hell Tim – I expected so much more from you, but then you turned out to be taking the mickey out of the role towards the end and I couldn’t stand it. It took me way too long to recognise who Abigail was (and not going to lie, expecting me to think that an MI6 field agent looks like that? They could have said that she was an analyst and it would have been more believable)

Verdict
Beyond the plot line, there was nothing in the movie keeping me engrossed. It was more of the case, it started good and slowly declining… until it sped to a horrible end.
