Howdy and welcome to the Domestic Traveller! Thank you for stopping by.

The site was born after I shrugged my shoulder for the last time in July 2012. Why? Because I could not answer “What should I do when I come see you?”. Inspired to add “Adventurer” to my name, I decided to check out all the recurring events in and around my hometown and highlight the best and hidden gems!

I’m Nigel D’Souza and I want to show you the best of my hometown (currently Melbourne Australia) and share ideas to inspire you, make you laugh, drool and help you grow as a human being. It will just be you and me, having a chat, discussing this awesome place we call home and everything in between that this short life has to offer us! Any paid opinions shall be mentioned right away.

The Domestic TravellerTrained as a developer, I moved into Business Analysis developing a flair for Data Analytics and worked on my creative side through my blog and as a photographer. I now freelance as a Small Business Social Media Marketing Consultant by helping you to create a presence in the crowded marketplace based on the hard outcomes you would like to achieve (if you want more “likes” and “high following” counts, I’ll give you the links, but you’ll be wasting your time.). My end goal is to become a Product Manager and I’m always looking at how I can better at this skill set. If you are keen on becoming a Product Manager too, come join Product Annonymous! If you would like to work together, feel free to get in touch by sending me an email (thedomestictraveller[at]gmail[dot]com).

On the side, I volunteer with the State Emergency Services, provide mentoring to students about to Graduate and enter the workforce (check out my book reviews and life categories for this), love to read (predominantly non-fiction books, but am definitely open to fiction suggestions too), drink a lot of coffee, lift weights, play videogames (when I get the chance) and learning to appreciate whisky, scotch, gin, tequila and wine.

I hope you’ll enjoy my musings, bringing the best out of every place we will explore.

Let’s rediscover our home and create a lifetime of memories together.

“We must not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive at the place we began and know the place for the first time.”

– T.S. Elliot.
