I was a little dubious when my friend mentioned that this was the “best” meal that he ever had. And when I had my first mouthful, I had to agree. This was something else.
Location
This place is in the heart of Lygon street, one of the most famous Italian strips in Melbourne. You honestly can’t go wrong eating at any restraurant along this place. There is ample of paid parking about and if you’re savvy, you’ll be able to grab one of the free ones near the university nearby.
Food
Whilst my friend went for the Risotto which he absolutely swears by, I went for the Daily Special – roasted, slow cooked pork belly with sauteed potatoes and seasonal vegetables with a homemade puree.
Now he started off with a side of chips. Easy. Simple.
But the way it was executed? My gawd, I was in heaven. The soft warm fluffy inside with the crisp exterior was just the right thing to order on a cold Melbourne night.
And my meal? I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
From a technical perspective, every single flavour was well balanced and there is nothing I could fault with this dish.
Oh and for prosperity – here’s the Risotto he raved about.

Cost
To be honest, I wouldn’t even bother with the cost. Yes, it is expensive. And you should enjoy the meal for exactly what it is. Something utterly delicious.

Ambiance
The interior was nice and comfortable and I could easily recommend this place for a date night or to bring a few friends to enjoy some great italian delicasy. Although, with the expanding waistlines after the meals, they should offer a “roll-to-your-car” service.

Service
The service was top notch and attentive. When they noticed our water was dwindilling, they immediately went and filled up our glasses and left a fresh bottle of water for us.
