New Blog Plans: From Coffee to Suburb Insights!

My promise of doing the work back in February 2023 was a bit naive. New job and wanting to make a massive difference in that industry, kept me away from an item that fuels my creativity. Alas no more! Here are some plans for the blog going forward.

New Categories

I’d be lying if I said this blog, established circa 2012, still reflects my current interest in the world. Sure, some things have remained, but overall, I have chosen some specifics that I’d love to share with you. I’m confident that the new readers will also appreciate what I have to add. The fundamentals of this won’t change – it’s a pivot!

What can you look forward to?

  • Coffee – there will be a dedicated segment to coffee and all its glory! These will include shops, how-tos and beans!
If there is a coffee shop or bean, you’d like me to try, then please let me know!
  • Support Local – if the pandemic has shown me anything, it’s that you need to support local businesses. Plus a few of my friends have started their own businesses. I will showcase them here, every one of them I have used (or intend to use).
  • Reviews – this will be broken down into Books, Movies/TV and Restaurants
  • Things To Do – A call back to the heyday of why I set up this blog in the first place in 2012.
I have a few personal skills I am trying to grow with this list, and I’ll be grateful for your patience whilst I iron out these bugs. Expect to see more around – Events, Music, Farmers Markets, Date Ideas, Social Hangouts and the return of the famous “Redundancy Recipes” (this is where my time will come from – lol and sigh).

Career is Moving to my other blog

I realised I was trying to do too many things with this blog and that I need to niche it down a little bit better. Hence, as outlined, I’ll be moving my career and mentoring advice to my other blog over at www.NigelDSouza.com. You’ll find my 30 day experiments in there as well. However, anything that helps with the social aspect of life will stay here, which leads me to my next exciting item

The introduction of Insights

As people move into different life stages, there are different decisions that need to be made and one of them is where to raise a family. Having worked in the medical research world, there are a ton of free tools that can then be used with publicly available data to showcase some key factors that are important to people about a suburb. After nearly 2 decades of work, my love of all things data, I thought perhaps I can start doing a suburb-by-suburb profile breakdown. Whilst I work through implementing these, the social side of self-improvement will remain here. I would love if you could leave a comment on your thoughts about this suburb insights.
