PAX 2016 Day 1 – Wrap Up
If you love video games, then PAX is one of those amazing annual events that is worth going to over the three days. Admittedly, I was only introduced to it formally in 2015 but had heard rumblings about it from a raving fan in 2014. It’s definitely one of those things that you need to go experience for yourself. To give ou an idea, here I am writing up notes and blogging about all the amazing things I found out about the event. Here is my biggest takeaway from day 1. Continue reading

When I Grow Up – Matilda the Musical Review
Musicals aren’t something that immediately jumps out as a “must-do” event. Heck, it wasn’t a thing until I was coaxed into seeing Jersey Boys in 2012 or 2013. And that changed everything. Continue reading
Melbourne Open House: Collins Street Baptist Church
Collins Street Baptist Church
Architect: Joseph Reed
Collins Street Baptist Church has a long and colourful history. For more than 170 years it has been home to a community of people committed to the Christian faith and to living that faith in the City of Melbourne. The first chapel was built on the present site in 1845. However, by the 1850s the congregation has outgrown its space. Joseph Reed, the architect who designed the Melbourne Town Hall, demolished the original structure and replaced it with the present one which opened in 1862. The classical temple façade with its four Corinthian columns places the building in the neo-Greek architectural tradition rather than a Gothic style used for many of Melbourne’s churches. The steps and lamp standards enhance the building’s grandeur, and the portico, with its finely detailed dentils and brackets, is the oldest reasonably complete surviving example of any non-residential building in Victoria. Heritage Victoria describes it as the grandest classical church in Victoria.

The central point that contolled the flinders street station interchange. It went unused for a long time till the City Of Melbourne decided to restore and save the location. The views in there are quite amazing and the history in pictures was worth the slow scroll through.
