I really enjoyed the amazing changing colours of the campsite. Something that will stay in my memory for a long time to come.

Yarra Valley Chocolaterie Where Chocoholics Heaven Becomes Reality
Road-Tripping to the Valley
After pushing through a long week of work a day off couldn’t just be spent with my feet up, eating large quantities of food and watching day television re-runs.
With this weekend just been marking one month since returning back to live in Launceston, Tasmania from Melbourne, I thought a day trip out to my childhood area of Tasmania – the Meander Valley – for an afternoon of Indie Folk music and (had to get it in my day off somehow) large quantities of food.
The ever-breathtaking hour long drive out my Uncle and Aunty’s cafe/the day’s sold-out music venue, Marakoopa Cafe in Mayberry, was met at the end by a fantastic group of 30+ Sunday music enthusiasts not deterred by a 13-degree day merely a week after the state (and especially the area of Meander Valley) suffered some of it’s worst floods and rainfalls in history.

Not all those who Wander are lost. A trip down South (Hobart)
For no apparent reason, other than the ability to get away, I decided to fly to Tasmania. Why? Well, why not?!

Bits and Bobs: A Picture A Day
Things to try this week (W15 2016)
There are quite a few things on in this amazing city and here are my top 3:
1. Como Gardens
This is a local fundraiser for the State Emergency Services and St. Johns Ambulance. There are rides and food and all sorts of goodies on show. The train ride is a definite must. If you’re a fan of old racing cars then you HAVE to go!
Full disclosure: I volunteer at the SES unit that this is being held for. That said, it’s a great weekend out and one I always recommend.
2. Rhoddendam Gardens
Yeah it could be a little wet but this beauty is one to behold. Soon I will be compiling a photo-tour of this place during the weather changes.
Please note that there is a bicycle event taking place on 17/4 around the area where these 2 attractions are being held. I would highly recommend having enough leeway to ensure you are not impacted by the event.
3. Brooklyn’s Finest – For you I do – launch shows
One of my fave local bands is launching their next album across the Eastside of Australia. You can get access to their events here.
Full disclosure: I went to high school with the guitarist and whilst I genuinely like the music, I want you to know that I know these people.
Breathe In, Breathe Out: An unravelling that is Woodford Folk Festival
I took my time to write this piece. Cause I don’t want this feeling to end. But for as long as I believe in what it showed me, the power of it can never die. And here’s why you should go. Continue reading
From Asia with Love: Melbourne’s Annual Night Noodle Markets
The Night Noodle Market is heralded as one of the best things to see and do in the city of Melbourne. It’s here that foods from all around Asia are served in a street stall manner. Some of the fancier restaurants even make
an appearance and serve up their best in the fastest way possible.

Melbourne’s The Grand Trailer Park Taverna is the place to be
Oooh eee! Gawd damn. Move over burger leader board, there’s a new player in town raring for the top spot. My opinion? It’s won it and here’s why. Continue reading
